Sargasso is owned and operated by Doug and Linda.  The company has been in operation since 1997 and is situated in Spruce Grove, Alberta.

Sargasso Enterprises produces hand-woven goods in addition to marketing supplies, yarns, and threads for the fibre artist.  The majority of our products are produced from natural fibres and we are strong supporters of environmentally friendly products.

The Name Sargasso

The Sargasso Sea is a region of the North Atlantic Ocean.  It is known for the rootless weed, Sargassum, which grows by budding.  The seaweed floats en masse on the surface providing protection for some species and reportedly danger for ships.

Our company like the Sargasso Sea is a small contributor to the vast world of fibre, yarn, and textiles.  On our journey, ideas bud and fibre and yarn create new textiles.  Please join us in creating your own contribution to the fibre arts!
